Okay, total self-indulgence here. I have officially lost any touch with anything remotely known as "plot". I keep thinking I know where I'm going, and I don't get there. Plus I just read rahirah's Vegas story, and I'm all verklempt with admiration, because she does Buffy voice so well, and she PLOTS too, and I am not worthy.....
But anyway. Frost. The reference to "dawn goes down to day" is for Nan Dibble, who used that poem in my favorite ever fan fic scene, where Spike tries to keep Dawn, at least in his own memory.
I am going to have to massively revise this -- consider this very much a Work In Progress.
